Why "service + city" and not "near me"
Google already knows where the searcher is, so "roof repair near me" returns results based on their location, not on the words. You can't target "near me" in a useful way, and tracking it gives you a number that changes every time you move your phone.
"Roof repair Clearwater" is different. It tells you whether Google connects your business with that service in that place. Track those terms in a rank tracker or a map grid tool and you'll see real progress.
What to do with the list
- Check the search volume for each term in Google Keyword Planner or Semrush. Small towns often show zero volume but still bring calls.
- Give each high-value service its own page. Add city pages only where you have something real to say about working there.
- Add the same services to your Business Profile so Google matches them in the map pack.
- Track the top 20 to 50 terms each month, not hundreds.
